ESSENTIAL DUTIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Installs, configures, and upgrades the database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Recommends database management systems, hardware platforms and data distributions to be used in system implementations, including those operating on a 24-hour basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Assigns and controls names used for the various portions of data base to include, transaction codes, elements, tables, records, schema and sub-schema.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ensures adequate security safeguards are in place to control access to all databases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ensures the integrity of database files through the daily monitoring of database backups, logs, journals and transaction statistics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In charge of all databases used within the organization and ensures their proper functionality. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Oversees the proper distribution and controlled replication of data across Disaster Recovery (DR) sites and databases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Plans and executes performance tests of physical data base designs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Allocates disk space for new data tables and monitors space utilization for existing data tables.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Makes adjustments to table sizes and locations to ensure efficient use of resources and to optimize performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Manages schema and sub-schema libraries, and responds to requests for data views.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Implements database backup and recovery plans, and performs database recoveries and coordination with other areas of the IT department.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Monitors and reviews operating statistics for conformance to performance standards and overall system performance goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maintains documentation about test and production database environments to help resolve potential production problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Prepares periodic reports on the status of all database systems to including performance data, economics data and database usage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Supporting Core banking database systems and act as first line support for all database issues.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maintain a Knowledge base of all known application issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In charge of IFRS 9 Data extraction. Liaises with Finance team to resolve any data errors that might appear in the IFRS 9 Reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In charge of submission of data to the enterprise data warehouse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Coordinate the resolution and remediation of all security related issues at Database level for all the databases used in the bank. This will involve end user training on security related matters, including applying the lastest security patches and updates on the database systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Implement and maintain High availability solution (e.g., Data Guard, Always-on, Galera Mysql).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • And any other duties assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Demonstrated abilities with source control systems and team collaborative software\/database development and knowledge management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Demonstrated abilities with server and data storage hardware concepts with ability to conduct basic hardware and software sizing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Experience with database support and development tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Education & Experience<\/strong>          <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • Bachelors of Science degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Oracle \/ MS SQL \/ MYSQL DBA certification is preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • 3+ years experience in database administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Language Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Fluency in spoken and written English language.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
