Formula 1, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine qui g\u00e8re le championnat, l\u2019a annonc\u00e9 ce mardi 13 octobre 2026. Rappelons que la derni\u00e8re course du championnat du monde sur le continent remonte au 14 novembre 1993, \u00e0 Kyalami, pr\u00e8s de Johannesburg. Le&nbsp;<strong>Rwanda<\/strong>&nbsp;avait lanc\u00e9 sa candidature fin 2024, face \u00e0 une<strong>&nbsp;Afrique du Sud&nbsp;<\/strong>qui r\u00e9clame elle aussi le retour de la discipline sur son sol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-une-annonce-portee-par-le-president-rwandais\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une annonce port\u00e9e par le pr\u00e9sident rwandais<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Paul Kagame&nbsp;<\/strong>a pris la parole lors de la pr\u00e9sentation, devant un d\u00e9cor aux couleurs de Formula 1, de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale de l\u2019automobile (<strong>FIA<\/strong>) et de<strong>&nbsp;Visit Rwanda<\/strong>. Le chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat a affirm\u00e9 que son pays est&nbsp;<em>\u00ab heureux et enthousiaste \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de prendre part \u00e0 une aventure qui va changer la fa\u00e7on dont l\u2019Afrique est per\u00e7ue dans le monde du sport&nbsp;<\/em>\u00bb. Le pr\u00e9sident rwandais avait d\u00e9voil\u00e9 ce projet en d\u00e9cembre 2024, \u00e0 Kigali, lors de l\u2019assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la FIA. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque son pays ne poss\u00e9dait aucun circuit capable d\u2019accueillir une \u00e9preuve de ce niveau.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-un-circuit-permanent-a-construire-pres-de-kigali\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un circuit permanent \u00e0 construire pr\u00e8s de Kigali<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Grand Prix se tiendrait sur un nouveau circuit situ\u00e9 \u00e0 une quarantaine de kilom\u00e8tres de la capitale, pr\u00e8s de l\u2019a\u00e9roport international de Bugesera. Le Rwanda investit depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es dans l\u2019organisation d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements sportifs. En effet, le pays est partenaire des clubs de football d\u2019Arsenal et du Paris Saint-Germain et a collabor\u00e9 entre autres avec la NBA pour d\u00e9velopper le basket-ball en Afrique. Quelques jours avant l\u2019annonce, le ministre sud-africain des Sports, Gayton McKenzie, avait salu\u00e9 le choix du Rwanda tout en maintenant les ambitions de son pays.
