La cour d’appel de Paris a confirm\u00e9, mercredi 17 mai, la peine de l’ancien chef de l’\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais pour corruption et trafic d’influence dans l’affaire des \u00e9coutes. Condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 trois ans d’emprisonnement, dont deux avec sursis, Nicolas Sarkozy n’ira pas en prison. Il portera un bracelet \u00e9lectronique. Tr\u00e8s rapidement, l’ancien pr\u00e9sident a indiqu\u00e9 vouloir se pourvoir en cassation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La cour d’appel de Paris a confirm\u00e9 la peine prononc\u00e9e en premi\u00e8re instance, le 1er mars 2021, contre l’ancien pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique, 68 ans, qui a \u00e9cout\u00e9 la d\u00e9cision assis sur le banc des pr\u00e9venus, la m\u00e2choire serr\u00e9e. Nicolas Sarkozy est le premier ancien pr\u00e9sident condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 de la prison ferme, son ancien mentor Jacques Chirac s’\u00e9tant vu infliger en 2011 deux ans de prison avec sursis dans le dossier des emplois fictifs de la ville de Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Pacte de corruption<\/em> \u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Son avocat historique Thierry Herzog et l’ancien haut magistrat Gilbert Azibert ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9galement reconnus coupables d’avoir nou\u00e9 un \u00ab pacte de corruption<\/em> \u00bb avec Nicolas Sarkozy en 2014 et condamn\u00e9s \u00e0 la m\u00eame peine. La cour d’appel a, en outre, prononc\u00e9 une interdiction des droits civiques de trois ans pour M. Sarkozy, ce qui le rend in\u00e9ligible, ainsi qu’une interdiction d’exercer de trois ans pour Me Herzog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le 13 d\u00e9cembre 2022, le parquet g\u00e9n\u00e9ral avait r\u00e9clam\u00e9 trois ans d’emprisonnement avec sursis \u00e0 l’encontre des trois pr\u00e9venus, qui ont toujours ni\u00e9 toute corruption. L’ancien homme fort de la droite a contest\u00e9 \u00ab avec la plus grande force<\/em> \u00bb lors du proc\u00e8s en appel ces accusations, r\u00e9affirmant \u00e0 la barre n’avoir \u00ab jamais corrompu qui que ce soit<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’affaire \u00ab Bygmalion \u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Cette d\u00e9cision \u00e9tait attendue alors que Nicolas Sarkozy sera rejug\u00e9 en appel \u00e0 l’automne dans l’affaire \u00ab Bygmalion \u00bb et qu’il est sous la menace d’un troisi\u00e8me proc\u00e8s retentissant: le PNF a requis jeudi son renvoi en correctionnelle dans l’affaire des soup\u00e7ons de financement libyen de sa campagne pr\u00e9sidentielle de 2007. Ce dossier judiciaire, qui met \u00e9galement en cause trois anciens ministres de l’ex-pr\u00e9sident, est indirectement \u00e0 l’origine de l’affaire des \u00e9coutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
