L’\u00c9thiopie affirme avoir plus que doubl\u00e9 sa production d’\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de son m\u00e9ga-barrage controvers\u00e9 sur le Nil Bleu apr\u00e8s la mise en service de deux autres turbines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Grand barrage \u00e9thiopien de la Renaissance (GERD), d’une valeur de plusieurs milliards de dollars, longtemps source de tension avec les pays en aval, l’\u00c9gypte et le Soudan, produit d\u00e9sormais 1 550 m\u00e9gawatts d’\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le GERD dans un message publi\u00e9 sur X mardi soir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab L’avancement global du GERD est d\u00e9sormais pass\u00e9 de la phase de construction \u00e0 la phase op\u00e9rationnelle \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9, ajoutant que la construction du barrage en b\u00e9ton \u00e9tait d\u00e9sormais termin\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Les deux turbines g\u00e9n\u00e9rant 400 MW chacune ont maintenant commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 fonctionner, s’ajoutant aux deux turbines d\u00e9j\u00e0 op\u00e9rationnelles g\u00e9n\u00e9rant 375 MW chacune, totalisant une production de 1 550 MW. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’\u00c9thiopie a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 produire de l’\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 au barrage en f\u00e9vrier 2022. Il devrait produire \u00e0 terme plus de 5 000 m\u00e9gawatts, soit plus du double de la production actuelle de l’\u00c9thiopie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00c9gypte et le Soudan ont exprim\u00e9 leurs inqui\u00e9tudes quant \u00e0 l\u2019exploitation du barrage sans accord tripartite, craignant que cela ne menace leur acc\u00e8s aux eaux vitales du Nil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addis-Abeba consid\u00e8re le GERD comme essentiel \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectrification et au d\u00e9veloppement du deuxi\u00e8me pays le plus peupl\u00e9 d\u2019Afrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
