Le pr\u00e9sident sud-africain Cyril Ramaphosa a profit\u00e9 de son discours devant l’Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations Unies pour condamner fermement l’escalade de violence en cours \u00e0 Gaza.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans une allocution percutante mardi, il a compar\u00e9 le traitement des Palestiniens par Isra\u00ebl \u00e0 l’apartheid qui a d\u00e9vast\u00e9 l’Afrique du Sud pendant des d\u00e9cennies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaphosa n’a pas m\u00e2ch\u00e9 ses mots. Pour lui, la souffrance actuelle des Palestiniens s’inscrit dans une continuit\u00e9 historique : \u00ab La violence que subit le peuple palestinien est la sinistre continuation de plus d’un demi-si\u00e8cle d’apartheid perp\u00e9tr\u00e9 par Isra\u00ebl \u00e0 l’encontre des Palestiniens. Nous, Sud-Africains, savons \u00e0 quoi ressemble l’apartheid. Nous avons v\u00e9cu l’apartheid. Nous avons souffert et nous sommes morts sous l’apartheid. Nous ne resterons pas silencieux et ne regarderons pas l’apartheid se perp\u00e9trer contre d’autres \u00bb<\/em>, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avec force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le chef de l’\u00c9tat sud-africain a \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 \u00e0 une r\u00e9ponse globale des leaders mondiaux pour mettre fin \u00e0 ce qu’il consid\u00e8re comme une injustice flagrante. Il a insist\u00e9 sur le fait que la seule solution durable repose sur la cr\u00e9ation d’un \u00c9tat palestinien ind\u00e9pendant, coexistant pacifiquement avec Isra\u00ebl, avec J\u00e9rusalem-Est comme capitale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Il est temps que la communaut\u00e9 internationale, \u00e0 travers l’ONU et d’autres institutions multilat\u00e9rales, se mobilise pour soulager les souffrances des civils palestiniens \u00bb,<\/em> a ajout\u00e9 Ramaphosa, rappelant que l\u2019Afrique du Sud avait elle-m\u00eame b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de la solidarit\u00e9 internationale dans sa lutte contre l\u2019apartheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, Ramaphosa a soulign\u00e9 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d’une r\u00e9forme urgente du Conseil de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l’ONU, pour qu\u2019il devienne plus repr\u00e9sentatif et inclusif, permettant aux voix des nations africaines d\u2019\u00eatre mieux entendues dans les affaires mondiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
