Mercredi 13 novembre 2024, le Somaliland, r\u00e9publique autoproclam\u00e9e depuis 1991, a tenu sa quatri\u00e8me \u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle. 1,2 million d\u2019\u00e9lecteurs \u00e9taient appel\u00e9s aux urnes pour choisir leur futur dirigeant parmi trois candidats : le pr\u00e9sident sortant Muse Bihi, fragilis\u00e9 par un conflit arm\u00e9 dans le Sud-Est ; Abdirahman Irro, principal opposant qui a ax\u00e9 sa campagne sur l\u2019unit\u00e9 nationale ; et Faysal Ali Warabe, candidat du Parti de la justice sociale.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malgr\u00e9 un climat pr\u00e9\u00e9lectoral tendu, marqu\u00e9 par des violences dans la province de Sool, le vote s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 dans le calme. \u00ab Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Allah, l\u2019\u00e9lection s\u2019est tenue pacifiquement \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Mohamed Adan Saqadhi, chef des forces de police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans la capitale Hargeisa, des files d\u2019attente \u00e9taient visibles d\u00e8s l\u2019aube, montrant la d\u00e9termination des habitants. Des images partag\u00e9es sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux montrent des \u00e9lecteurs en situation de handicap et m\u00eame une femme sortant de l\u2019h\u00f4pital pour voter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette \u00e9lection est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un test pour la stabilit\u00e9 d\u00e9mocratique du Somaliland, qui cherche \u00e0 renforcer sa reconnaissance \u00e0 l’internationale. Les r\u00e9sultats sont attendus pour le 21 novembre, a annonc\u00e9 la Commission \u00e9lectorale nationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
