 Le Pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique F\u00e9lix Tshisekedi a proc\u00e9d\u00e9 ce jeudi au lancement officiel des travaux du nouvel a\u00e9roport international de Luano \u00e0 Lubumbashi. Cette infrastructure a\u00e9roportuaire de grande envergure vient r\u00e9pondre aux besoins croissants de la capitale du Haut-Katanga, deuxi\u00e8me ville du pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de pose de premi\u00e8re pierre s’est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e en pr\u00e9sence des autorit\u00e9s provinciales, des membres du gouvernement central, ainsi que des repr\u00e9sentants du monde des affaires et des forces arm\u00e9es. Le nouveau complexe a\u00e9roportuaire, qui s’\u00e9tendra sur 3.500 hectares, remplacera l’actuel a\u00e9roport de Lubumbashi devenu v\u00e9tuste et inadapt\u00e9 au trafic croissant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D’une capacit\u00e9 initiale de 2 millions de passagers par an, l’a\u00e9roport de Luano disposera d’une piste de 4.000 m\u00e8tres capable d’accueillir les plus gros avions de ligne. Le projet pr\u00e9voit \u00e9galement la construction d’une zone de fret sp\u00e9cialement d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux exportations mini\u00e8res, secteur cl\u00e9 de l’\u00e9conomie r\u00e9gionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Ce nouvel a\u00e9roport positionnera Lubumbashi comme un hub a\u00e9ronautique majeur en Afrique centrale\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Pr\u00e9sident Tshisekedi lors de son allocution. Il a soulign\u00e9 que cette infrastructure permettra de renforcer la connectivit\u00e9 de la RDC avec les pays voisins, particuli\u00e8rement ceux de la SADC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les travaux, dont le d\u00e9marrage effectif est pr\u00e9vu pour juin prochain, devraient s’\u00e9taler sur trois ans. La phase de construction g\u00e9n\u00e9rera environ 5.000 emplois directs, selon les estimations gouvernementales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce projet s’inscrit dans le cadre du programme national de modernisation des infrastructures de transport, priorit\u00e9 du second mandat du Pr\u00e9sident Tshisekedi. Les autorit\u00e9s comptent sur ce nouvel a\u00e9roport pour dynamiser l’\u00e9conomie provinciale et faciliter les \u00e9changes commerciaux, notamment dans le secteur minier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le financement du projet associera des fonds publics et des investissements priv\u00e9s, avec un appel \u00e0 partenariats pr\u00e9vu dans les prochaines semaines. Les \u00e9tudes techniques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 finalis\u00e9es par un consortium d’experts nationaux et internationaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
