Le pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain Donald Trump a cr\u00e9\u00e9 la surprise en annon\u00e7ant sur son r\u00e9seau social la conclusion imminente d’un \u00ab\u00a0accord de paix historique\u00a0\u00bb entre la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo et le Rwanda, mettant fin selon lui \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0des d\u00e9cennies de conflit sanglant\u00a0\u00bb. Une d\u00e9claration fracassante qui interroge autant qu’elle suscite l’espoir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une annonce tonitruante<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dans un post typique de son style, Trump a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0Ils devraient me donner le prix Nobel pour ce que j’ai fait au Rwanda, au Congo, en Serbie, au Kosovo… L’Inde et le Pakistan aussi. Franchement, j’aurais d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00fb le recevoir quatre ou cinq fois.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le locataire de la Maison Blanche affirme avoir personnellement facilit\u00e9 cet accord avec l’appui du secr\u00e9taire d’\u00c9tat Marco Rubio. \u00ab\u00a0C’est un grand jour pour l’Afrique et pour le monde\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, a-t-il ajout\u00e9, comparant implicitement cette r\u00e9ussite \u00e0 ses pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents coups diplomatiques comme les accords d’Abraham au Moyen-Orient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington en attente de signatures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Selon Trump, les repr\u00e9sentants des deux pays doivent se rendre \u00e0 Washington d\u00e8s ce lundi pour une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de signature officielle. Pourtant, \u00e0 l’heure o\u00f9 nous publions, ni Kinshasa ni Kigali n’ont confirm\u00e9 cette information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les services diplomatiques am\u00e9ricains restent prudents : \u00ab\u00a0Nous travaillons effectivement avec les parties prenantes pour une r\u00e9solution durable des tensions\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, a indiqu\u00e9 une source au D\u00e9partement d’\u00c9tat, sans toutefois valider le calendrier \u00e9voqu\u00e9 par Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un conflit aux racines profondes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Les relations entre la RDC et Les relations entre la RDC et le Rwanda, marqu\u00e9es depuis trente ans par des accusations r\u00e9ciproques de soutien \u00e0 des groupes rebelles et par des conflits frontaliers r\u00e9currents, constituent un dossier complexe. En 2023, une m\u00e9diation angolaise avait permis un apaisement temporaire, mais sans aboutir \u00e0 un trait\u00e9 formel. Si l’annonce de Trump se concr\u00e9tisait, elle repr\u00e9senterait donc une avanc\u00e9e significative pour la stabilit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
