Il a d\u00e9tr\u00f4n\u00e9 le Sud-Africain Dricus du Plessis, dernier champion africain de l’UFC, dans un combat remport\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la d\u00e9cision\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 il a fait passer son adversaire pour un d\u00e9butant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le jour de gloire est arriv\u00e9 pour Khamzat Chimaev. Programm\u00e9 pour \u00eatre champion chez les –\u00a084 kilos \u00e0 l’UFC, le combattant d’origine tch\u00e9tch\u00e8ne, qui a obtenu la nationalit\u00e9 \u00e9miratie afin de pouvoir combattre aux \u00c9tats-Unis, a vu ses chances de devenir champion de nombreuses fois repouss\u00e9es. Souvent pour des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9, parfois parce qu’il perdait le combat contre la balance, ratant le poids pour ses combats. Dans la nuit de samedi \u00e0 dimanche, \u00e0 Chicago, Chimaev a montr\u00e9, contre Dricus du Plessis, que le monde du\u00a0MMA<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0avait bien fait d’attendre. Car il a prouv\u00e9 avec une victoire \u00e9crasante \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 la d\u00e9cision\u00a0\u00bb (50-44), que chez les poids moyens, personne n’est plus fort que lui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contre le champion sud-africain, le natif de Neo-Yurt, en Tch\u00e9tch\u00e9nie, est rest\u00e9 fid\u00e8le \u00e0 son style : une lutte qui a des allures de harc\u00e8lement. Ses adversaires ont beau savoir ce qui leur est r\u00e9serv\u00e9, ils finissent tous, sans exception, par se retrouver au sol ou sous pression contre la cage, passant leur temps \u00e0 d\u00e9fendre une pluie de coups ou des tentatives de soumission en cha\u00eene. Ce fut le cas de Du Plessis, lui pourtant si puissant physiquement et au style si impr\u00e9visible, qui avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 surpris bien des observateurs en battant de nombreux grands noms de cette cat\u00e9gorie pour se hisser jusqu’au titre de champion, a subi le combat plus qu’autre chose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quelles limites pour Chimaev ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dans chaque round, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 amen\u00e9 au sol dans les 15 premi\u00e8res secondes et incapable de se relever pour enclencher des phases de combat debout. Dans les premier et troisi\u00e8me rounds, le Sud-Africain a subi dans une position de crucifix, allong\u00e9 sur le dos, les deux bras bloqu\u00e9s, \u00e0 encaisser comme il le pouvait de nombreux coups au visage. Le reste du temps, il a tent\u00e9 de d\u00e9verrouiller des \u00e9tranglements bien engag\u00e9s, ou alors de sortir de la pression contre le grillage, sans succ\u00e8s.
