Frank Caprio, juge retrait\u00e9 du Rhode Island, \u00c9tat du nord-est des \u00c9tats-Unis, s\u2019est b\u00e2ti une r\u00e9putation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9mission t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9e qu\u2019il pr\u00e9sentait, \u00ab Caught in Providence \u00bb, qui plongeait le t\u00e9l\u00e9spectateur dans la salle d\u2019audience du magistrat, o\u00f9, \u00ab les gens et les affaires \u00e9taient trait\u00e9s avec gentillesse et compassion \u00bb, selon sa page YouTube.https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K6bOZKjNXSE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce show, dans lequel il faisait preuve d\u2019empathie \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de personnes notamment poursuivies pour des infractions au code de la route et des amendes de stationnement, qu\u2019il a gagn\u00e9 le surnom de \u00ab juge le plus gentil du monde \u00bb et des millions d\u2019abonn\u00e9s sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Des extraits vid\u00e9os, avec des millions de vues sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux, le montraient souvent abandonner les poursuites pour des familles en difficult\u00e9 financi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hommages multiples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019annonce de son d\u00e9c\u00e8s a suscit\u00e9 une avalanche d\u2019hommages en ligne. \u00ab Le juge Caprio \u00e9tait un tr\u00e9sor du Rhode Island \u00bb, a \u00e9crit mercredi, dans un communiqu\u00e9<\/a>, le gouverneur de cet \u00c9tat, Dan McKee, annon\u00e7ant la mise en berne des drapeaux du Rhode Island, en sa m\u00e9moire. \u00ab Il \u00e9tait davantage qu\u2019un juriste – il \u00e9tait un symbole d\u2019empathie au pr\u00e9toire, nous montrant ce qu\u2019il est possible de faire quand la justice est temp\u00e9r\u00e9e avec humanit\u00e9 \u00bb, a poursuivi le gouverneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s 38 ans pass\u00e9s au service de la justice, Frank Caprio avait publi\u00e9 fin 2023 une vid\u00e9o sur Instagram racontant, \u00e9mu, n\u2019avoir jamais oubli\u00e9 son premier jour en tant que juge. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019audience, son p\u00e8re, dans la salle, lui reproche de ne pas avoir su \u00e9couter une femme, m\u00e8re de trois enfants, se disant incapable de payer 300 dollars d\u2019amendes de stationnement. \u00ab Ce n\u2019est jamais arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 nouveau apr\u00e8s \u00e7a, jamais \u00bb, se souvient Frank Caprio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
