La soci\u00e9t\u00e9, qui compte des groupes chinois parmi ses principaux actionnaires, est aussi active \u00e0 la mine congolaise de zinc Kipushi, ainsi que sur le projet de platino\u00efdes Platreef en Afrique du Sud.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivanhoe Mines a annonc\u00e9 ce mercredi 17 septembre un investissement de 500 millions de dollars du Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), le fonds souverain de l\u2019\u00c9tat qatari. En contrepartie, la compagnie canadienne, copropri\u00e9taire de la mine de cuivre de Kamoa-Kakula en RDC, \u00e9mettra 57,5 millions d\u2019actions ordinaires, donnant \u00e0 QIA environ 4&nbsp;% de son capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cet accord s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre d\u2019un placement priv\u00e9 qui doit encore \u00eatre approuv\u00e9 par la bourse TSX au Canada, o\u00f9 Ivanhoe est cot\u00e9e. CITIC Metal Africa Investments Limited et Zijin Mining Group, les deux principaux actionnaires de la compagnie, ont par ailleurs le droit d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir au m\u00eame prix que QIA des actions d\u2019Ivanhoe, afin de maintenir leur participation dans la compagnie. Ivanhoe pr\u00e9cise qu\u2019elle utilisera l\u2019investissement du Qatar pour poursuivre ses activit\u00e9s, notamment l\u2019exploration et l\u2019exploitation de min\u00e9raux essentiels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab&nbsp;<em>Cet investissement strat\u00e9gique refl\u00e8te la confiance de la QIA non seulement dans le portefeuille d&rsquo;actifs de premier ordre d&rsquo;Ivanhoe Mines, mais surtout dans le soutien \u00e0 son \u00e9quipe pour trouver, d\u00e9velopper et fournir de mani\u00e8re durable les min\u00e9raux essentiels \u00e0 la transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique mondiale et aux applications technologiques de pointe<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, a comment\u00e9 Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi (photo), PDG de la QIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En dehors de Kamoa-Kakula, plus grande mine congolaise de cuivre et en lice pour devenir la deuxi\u00e8me plus grande au monde, Ivanhoe d\u00e9tient le projet de m\u00e9taux du groupe de platine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agenceecofin.com\/actualites\/1105-128254-crise-sur-le-marche-des-pgm-ivanhoe-mise-sur-la-diversification-a-sa-mine-platreef\">Platreef<\/a> en Afrique du Sud. La compagnie exploite \u00e9galement une mine de zinc en RDC, Kipushi.
