Kinshasa, 29 octobre 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Le Tribunal militaire de garnison de Kinshasa\/Gombe a rendu son verdict ce mercredi dans l’affaire de l’adjudante Sarah Ebabi, poursuivie pour avoir pos\u00e9 en tenue militaire lors d’une s\u00e9ance photo priv\u00e9e avec son fianc\u00e9. La juridiction a condamn\u00e9 la militaire \u00e0 12 mois de servitude p\u00e9nale principale avec sursis total, signifiant qu’elle n’effectuera pas de peine d’emprisonnement sauf en cas de r\u00e9cidive dans l’ann\u00e9e \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un verdict cl\u00e9ment face \u00e0 des r\u00e9quisitions s\u00e9v\u00e8res<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le jugement contraste fortement avec la peine de 10 ans de prison requise par le minist\u00e8re public, qui estimait que le comportement de l’adjudante Ebabi constituait une \u00ab\u00a0violation des consignes\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0portait atteinte \u00e0 l’image des FARDC\u00a0\u00bb. Les faits remontaient \u00e0 la publication sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux d’images montrant la militaire en uniforme dans un contexte non professionnel, lors des pr\u00e9paratifs de son mariage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La d\u00e9fense de l’adjudante entendue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’adjudante Sarah Ebabi avait reconnu avoir pris les photos \u00e0 titre personnel mais avait ni\u00e9 \u00eatre \u00e0 l’origine de leur diffusion publique, affirmant qu’elles avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9es sans son consentement par le g\u00e9rant d’un studio photo. Le tribunal a finalement retenu des circonstances att\u00e9nuantes, privil\u00e9giant une sanction symbolique qui rappelle le devoir de r\u00e9serve des militaires tout en tenant compte du caract\u00e8re priv\u00e9 des faits reproch\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur les plateformes num\u00e9riques, de nombreux Congolais ont accueilli favorablement le verdict, le qualifiant d'\u00a0\u00bb\u00e9quilibr\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb et estimant qu’une peine s\u00e9v\u00e8re aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0disproportionn\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb pour ce qu’ils consid\u00e8rent comme une simple \u00ab\u00a0erreur de jugement\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le\u00e7on pour l’institution militaire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette affaire, qui a captiv\u00e9 l’opinion publique pendant plusieurs semaines, sert de rappel s\u00e9v\u00e8re au sein des FARDC : la discipline militaire s’\u00e9tend au-del\u00e0 de la caserne et les m\u00e9dias sociaux peuvent transformer un geste intime en faute professionnelle. Si Sarah Ebabi n’ira pas en prison, elle reste sous la surveillance de la justice militaire pour les douze prochains mois, avec l’obligation de faire preuve d’une conduite irr\u00e9prochable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le verdict met fin \u00e0 une proc\u00e9dure qui avait suscit\u00e9 un vif d\u00e9bat entre les partisans d’une stricte application du r\u00e8glement militaire et ceux pr\u00f4nant la prise en compte des circonstances att\u00e9nuantes dans un cas relevant de la sph\u00e8re priv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
