Roland-Gilbert Okito Lumumba, fils a\u00een\u00e9 du h\u00e9ros national Patrice Emery Lumumba, est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 Kinshasa \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 67 ans. Ancien d\u00e9put\u00e9 national pendant pr\u00e8s d&rsquo;une d\u00e9cennie et architecte de formation, il s&rsquo;\u00e9tait d\u00e9vou\u00e9 corps et \u00e2me \u00e0 la qu\u00eate de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;assassinat de son p\u00e8re et \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation de son h\u00e9ritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Un combat de toute une vie pour la v\u00e9rit\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"739\" height=\"415\" src=\"https:\/\/congopubonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-122.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-93394\" style=\"width:631px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/congopubonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-122.png 739w, https:\/\/congopubonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-122-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/congopubonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-122-585x329.png 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 739px) 100vw, 739px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La qu\u00eate de justice de Roland Lumumba a marqu\u00e9 son existence. Il s&rsquo;\u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement illustr\u00e9 par un combat judiciaire acharn\u00e9 pour \u00e9tablir les circonstances compl\u00e8tes de l&rsquo;assassinat de Patrice Lumumba en janvier 1961. Il s&rsquo;\u00e9tait rendu \u00e0 plusieurs reprises en Belgique, suivant de pr\u00e8s les proc\u00e9dures engag\u00e9es devant la justice belge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R\u00e9cemment encore, \u00e0 Bruxelles, il participait \u00e0 des audiences d\u00e9cisives, affirmant avec une dignit\u00e9 remarquable que sa d\u00e9marche relevait non de la vengeance, mais d&rsquo;une profonde \u00ab soif de savoir \u00bb. Il \u00e9tait d\u00e9termin\u00e9 \u00e0 voir toute la lumi\u00e8re faite sur ce crime qui a profond\u00e9ment marqu\u00e9 l&rsquo;histoire du Congo et de l&rsquo;Afrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>L&rsquo;artisan du retour de la relique<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au-del\u00e0 de la justice, Roland Lumumba a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le central et \u00e9mouvant dans le rapatriement de la relique de son p\u00e8re. C&rsquo;est en grande partie gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son opini\u00e2tret\u00e9 et \u00e0 son dialogue avec les autorit\u00e9s belges que la dent, dernier reste physique de Patrice Lumumba conserv\u00e9 en Belgique, a pu \u00eatre officiellement restitu\u00e9e \u00e0 la RDC en juin 2022. Ce retour, hautement symbolique, a permis une forme de cl\u00f4ture m\u00e9morielle pour la nation congolaise et a marqu\u00e9 un tournant dans le long processus de r\u00e9conciliation avec son pass\u00e9 colonial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Un d\u00e9positaire exigeant d&rsquo;un h\u00e9ritage universel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tout au long de sa vie, Roland Lumumba a veill\u00e9 \u00e0 ce que la figure de son p\u00e8re ne soit pas r\u00e9duite \u00e0 un symbole familial. Il insistait pour que l&rsquo;on reconnaisse en lui le \u00ab p\u00e8re de l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance \u00bb, une figure fondatrice pour l&rsquo;Afrique toute enti\u00e8re. \u00ab Au lieu de dire que c&rsquo;est le papa de Roland, je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re que l&rsquo;on dise que c&rsquo;est Lumumba \u00bb, d\u00e9clarait-il, rappelant la dimension historique et universelle de son combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il a \u0153uvr\u00e9 \u00e0 la transmission de cet h\u00e9ritage \u00e0 travers la Fondation Lumumba et d&rsquo;autres initiatives, s&rsquo;assurant que les id\u00e9es d&rsquo;unit\u00e9 nationale, de souverainet\u00e9 et de justice sociale port\u00e9es par son p\u00e8re continuent d&rsquo;inspirer les jeunes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Une disparition au moment crucial de la qu\u00eate de v\u00e9rit\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Son d\u00e9c\u00e8s survient \u00e0 un moment o\u00f9 les proc\u00e9dures judiciaires en Belgique sur l&rsquo;assassinat de Patrice Lumumba sont toujours en cours. Son absence laisse un vide immense dans ce combat pour la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, mais aussi dans le paysage intellectuel et m\u00e9moriel congolais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Roland-Gilbert Okito Lumumba laisse le souvenir d&rsquo;un homme digne, r\u00e9silient et profond\u00e9ment engag\u00e9, ayant port\u00e9 avec une grande force le poids d&rsquo;un h\u00e9ritage historique colossal.
