Le pr\u00e9sident s\u00e9n\u00e9galais, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a mis fin aux fonctions de son Premier ministre, Ousmane Sonko, dans la soir\u00e9e du 22 mai 2026. L’annonce a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite \u00e0 la cha\u00eene de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision RTS peu avant 22h TU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans une courte allocution diffus\u00e9e un peu avant 22 heures locales ce vendredi 22 mai par la Radio t\u00e9l\u00e9vision s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise (RTS) depuis le Palais de la R\u00e9publique de Dakar, Oumar Samba Ba, le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Pr\u00e9sidence, a annonc\u00e9 qu’Ousmane Sonko<\/a><\/strong> n’\u00e9tait plus Premier ministre du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal<\/a><\/strong>. Les autres membres du gouvernement perdent eux aussi leurs fonctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Par d\u00e9cret n\u00b02026-1128 du 22 mai 2026, le pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique, son excellence Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye<\/a><\/strong>, a mis fin aux fonctions de M. Ousmane Sonko, Premier ministre, et par cons\u00e9quent, \u00e0 celles des ministres et secr\u00e9taires d’\u00c9tat, membres du gouvernement. Les membres du gouvernement sortant sont charg\u00e9s d’exp\u00e9dier les affaires courantes<\/em> \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Oumar Samba Ba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le limogeage d’Ousmane Sonko est intervenu quelques heures \u00e0 peine apr\u00e8s son passage devant l’Assembl\u00e9e nationale o\u00f9 il a r\u00e9pondu aux questions des d\u00e9put\u00e9s. \u00ab Je ne suis pas un Premier ministre qui ob\u00e9it aveugl\u00e9ment et qui acquiesce \u00e0 tout<\/em> \u00bb, a notamment d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le d\u00e9sormais ex-Premier ministre au cours de cette session. \u00c0 cette occasion, celui-ci a aussi \u00e9voqu\u00e9 des \u00ab divergences<\/em> \u00bb avec le pr\u00e9sident, mais rien qui ne freine la marche de l’\u00c9tat, selon lui. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des tensions avaient vu le jour ces derniers mois entre les deux t\u00eates de l’ex\u00e9cutif arriv\u00e9es au pouvoir en 2024, leurs diff\u00e9rends politiques s’affichant de plus en plus au grand jour. Il y a pr\u00e8s de trois semaines, lors d’un entretien avec la presse, Bassirou Diomaye Faye avait notamment indiqu\u00e9 qu’il pourrait mettre fin aux fonctions de son Premier ministre d\u00e8s lors qu’il n’aurait plus confiance en lui. Le Rubicon a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 franchi ce soir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Ousmane Sonko n’a pas tard\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9agir \u00e0 son limogeage sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux : \u00ab Ce soir je dormirai le c\u0153ur l\u00e9ger<\/em> \u00bb,  peut-on lire sur sa page Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ancien mentor de Bassirou Diomaye Faye et opposant de l’ancien chef de l’\u00c9tat Macky Sall, Ousmane Sonko avait \u00e9t\u00e9 emp\u00each\u00e9 de se pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 l’\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle de mars 2024 et avait d\u00e9sign\u00e9 l’actuel chef de l’\u00c9tat pour le remplacer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 pr\u00e9sent, \u00ab il va falloir que l’un et l’autre trouve des strat\u00e9gies pertinentes pour pouvoir exister et \u00e9voluer dans l’espace politique parce que si le pr\u00e9sident a beaucoup de ressources<\/em> […], il y a naturellement aussi des m\u00e9canismes du r\u00e9gime parlementaire qui peuvent fonctionner \u00e0 l’avantage de l’ancien Premier ministre Ousmane Sonko<\/em> \u00bb, analyse le professeur Maurice Soudieck Dione, agr\u00e9g\u00e9 de Sciences politiques \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 Gaston-Berger de Saint-Louis. \u00ab Avec la perspective d’\u00e9ch\u00e9ances \u00e9lectorales qui arrivent bient\u00f4t – des \u00e9lections locales en 2027 et la pr\u00e9sidentielle en 2029 -, le danger est donc d’assister \u00e0 une guerre de la majorit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sidentielle contre la majorit\u00e9 parlementaire, ce qui peut avoir des cons\u00e9quences pr\u00e9judiciables \u00e0 la bonne marche des affaires publiques<\/em> \u00bb, poursuit ce dernier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
